Joseph Bendel was born and raised in Canada but has lived mostly in South Florida since 2006. He earned both a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law as well as a Masters of Law in Taxation when he graduated with honors in 2014. While at law school, Joseph planted the seeds early in his legal studies to always seek the best possible outcomes on clients’ behalf, whether seeking disability benefits and/or representing low-income investors in securities fraud cases against their advisors at arbitration proceedings. Furthermore, Joseph served as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician while in law school and for some time thereafter.
After law school, Joseph specialized his practice by working on international tax matters for high net worth clients. He has always sympathized with the ongoing plight afflicting Florida homeowners who are wrongfully denied insurance benefits. Because the legal system presents a great challenge for ‘ordinary people’ who are wrongfully denied benefits under their insurance contracts, several years ago Joseph instead dedicated himself in working for homeowners who need to assert their rights under their insurance contracts. After all, they paid for insurance hoping to receive benefits should a claim occur, but homeowners face an uphill battle when dealing with an adverse coverage determination made by their insurance company. Joseph takes great pride in effectively representing his clients through the legal system in order to obtain a favorable resolution.
Joseph is qualified to practice law in the State of Florida as well as in federal court in the Southern District of Florida and the Middle District of Florida. When he is not representing homeowners, Joseph enjoys playing ice hockey, hiking or anything outdoors-related, and spending time with his children.
